“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galations 6:9 (NIV)
The corporate seal of our agency depicts a bird that is called the Tjo Fowroe (cho-foe-ru). This bird is a member of the Genus “Trogolytes” of small birds found on the northern coast of South America.
Tjo Fowroe shares a remarkable characteristic with the activities of the Child Protective Services and more specifically with foster care.
This bird is, by nature, a foster parent. It hatches abandoned eggs and mothers them through the early stages of their life. It should be noted that the eggs which are hatched vary in size and are sometimes much larger than her own.
Haven Homes perceives itself as Tjo Fowroe, an entity dedicated to be a safe haven for abandoned human offspring. It is seeking to successfully hatch children into society and give them the necessary tools not only to survive, but to succeed.
