The primary focus of Haven Homes is to help abused and neglected children become successful citizens of tomorrow and live better lives.
Becoming a successful foster parent requires special training beyond basic parenting. At Haven Homes, we utilize the internationally recognized Foster Parent Program known as M.A.P.P. (Model Approach to Partnership in Parenting). This program is instrumental in preparing foster parents for the challenges and rewards of foster parenting.
Foster Parents have round-the-clock contact with the children in their home. They also have the most influence on the child’s adjustment, their relationship with the birth parents, and their ability to help the transition be more natural and successful.
M.A.P.P. training prepares foster parents for all of the various situations they will encounter. There will be challenges, but the success of these children in your home, and later in society, is the ultimate reward!
Training classes are FREE, however, the cost of materials is $10.00 to be submitted no later than the beginning of the second meeting.
