QUALIFICATIONS

Foster Parents are people who want to make a difference in the life of a child by giving of their time, love, hope, and support.

◊

Foster Parents must be 21 years or older.

◊

Foster Parents must have a vehicle that is in good running condition. Insurance and DMV printouts are also required.

◊

Foster Parents must have a bedroom and a separate bed for each child. Each room can only contain two children per room.

◊

All adults in the home over the age of 18 must have FBI and child abuse clearance. They must also have their T.B. test and physical examination.

◊

Foster Parents must have their CPR and First Aid training cards. (Haven Homes does provide training for a minimal fee)

◊

Fosters Parents must have three reference letters from a non-relative.

◊

Foster Parents must have an established source of income outside of the foster care compensation.

◊

All foster parents must complete the M.A.P.P. training classes and all paperwork must be completed and handed in before placement can occur.
