TJO FOWROE HAVEN HOMES, INC. is a Family Resource Development Center founded in March of 1996 by Dr. Lloyd L. Held PH.D., MA, MA “equiv”, because of a need he saw to provide a safe haven for abused and neglected children. 

The mission of Tjo Fowroe Haven Homes is to find safe and loving homes for youth while providing them with psychological, medical, and educational services. These services are geared towards the restoration of developmental and emotional functioning of the youth in an effort to alleviate the effects of abuse, neglect and separation. The goal of Haven Homes is to successfully return the children to their birth parents or to provide alternative permanent placement.

Originally, Dr. Held worked as a Social Worker in the Family Preservation Section for the Elderly with the Dutch Reformed Church in Rotterdam, Holland. In 1985 he moved his family from Papendrecht, Holland to Pasadena, California where he became a student at the Graduate School of Psychology and the School of World Missions with Fuller Theological Seminary. 

Dr. Held and his staff are completely dedicated to providing a way for children to live better lives, and they thrive on the successes of those children they come in contact with.
